Thanksgiving Prayer for the Family

Thanksgiving Prayer for the Family: If God has been good
to you; if you have seen the hand of God in your life in
anyway; if you have seen disasters in other people’s lives
without you being a part of it; if you slept last night and woke
up this morning; if your family is in a good condition; if you had
no reason to rush anyone in your family to the hospital this
morning; if you did not wake up to meet any member of your
family lifeless beside you this morning; this prayer is for you.

Thanksgiving is an act of gratitude to a benefactor. Till date,
America still observe an annual national Thanksgiving Day on
the 4 th Thursday of November as a holiday to give thanks to
God in commemoration of the feast held by its Pilgrim
colonists centuries ago.

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good; for His mercy
endureth for ever” (1 Chronicles 16:34).

Benefits of Habitual Thanksgiving:

1. It allows the blessing to outlive its immediate time;
2. It protects your blessings from evil;
3. It multiplies your blessings;
4. It commits God to do more;
5. It sustains a memory of the goodness of God;
6. It triggers faith to believe God for more;
7. It informs and encourages others to believe God for
similar results; etc.

In a world where the daily news is littered with bad
occurrences on daily basis, creating an awareness of the
goodness of God through thanksgiving is noble.

The Protocol for Entering Divine Presence:

Thanksgiving opens the gates into the Lord’s presence. The
screams of your desire to have a need met will do less than a
heartfelt thanksgiving to God in gratitude for His goodness.

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts
with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name” (Psalm
100:4).

“We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the
generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength,
and His wonderful works that He hath done. For He
established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in
Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should
make them known to their children” (Psalm 78:4-5).

Thanking God for Your Family: Thanking God for your family
is a debt you owe Him. No one is strong enough to be
sufficiently all that he needs to be to his family. God must be
involved. Hence, the reason to be thankful to Him. It doesn’t
have to be a response to the acts of God; it should be a habit.

Thanksgiving Prayer for the Family

Thanksgiving: Father, thank You for giving me a family.
Thank You for all that You have done, that You are doing and
will continue to do. Thank You for benefits visible and
invisible. Be magnified in Jesus name.
“O give thanks unto the Lord ; for He is good: for His mercy
endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for His

mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for
His mercy endureth for ever. To Him who alone doeth great
wonders: for His mercy endureth for ever. To Him that by
wisdom made the heavens: for His mercy endureth for ever.
To Him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for His
mercy endureth for ever” (Psalm 136:1-6).
Thank You for answered prayers. In Jesus name I have
prayed. Amen!
