Prayer for a New Job

Prayer for a New Job–Stagnation could be frustrating. Life is
in a continuous progression. The unemployed wants a job; the
employed wants a better paid job; the better paid wants to be
self-employed; the self-employed wants to be a business
owner; and the business owner wants to be an investor. So, it
is normal to want a better or new job. But Psalm 75:6 says,
“Promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west,
nor from the south.”

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my
help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and
earth” (Psalm 121:1-2).

The Indispensable God: Whether man acknowledges this or
not, it is impossible for him to become anything without God.

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me
ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).

It is, therefore, logical to call on Him for help even with what
you can humanly accomplish because even the ability to do so
is from Him.

Faithfulness with What You Do: While it is good to seek a
new job, we should remember that faithfulness with what you
already have is a criterion for being trusted with a better
responsibility.

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much:
and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much” (Luke
16:10).

And if the new job that God wishes to give you is to make you
your own boss, then you must have been faithful with another
man’s business in your care.

“And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another
man's, who shall give you that which is your own?” (Luke
16:12).

Prayer for a New Job

Thanksgiving: Father, thank You for the responsibility to
keep man busy doing something to boost his creativity. Thank
You for giving me the ability to work. Be glorified in Jesus
name.
Gainful Employment: Lord, I do not want to waste away, help
me secure a job that will make You proud of me in Jesus
name. Help me get a job that would ease the responsibilities
on me, and help my services to Your course in Jesus name.
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that
ye, always having all sufficiency in all things , may abound to
every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).
“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business,
and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and
that ye may have lack of nothing” (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12).

Favor for Open Doors: Lord, grant that doors for greater
expressions of my skills will open unto me so I can explore
better opportunities in Jesus name.
“Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel,
and a door was opened unto me of the Lord” (2 Corinthians
2:12).
“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open
door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength,
and hast kept My word, and hast not denied My name”
(Revelation 3:8).
Creating Opportunities: Holy Spirit, help me to see
opportunities where others see stress in Jesus name. Open
my eyes to see the paths across red seas and Jordan rivers in
Jesus name.
“When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting
up; and he shall save the humble person” (Job 22:29).
Forward Ever: Lord, help me to ever progress and not have a
better yesterday in Jesus name. Give me a job that beat all my
imaginations of a good job in Jesus name.
“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth
more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18).
Thank You for answered prayers. In Jesus name I have
prayed. Amen!
