Opening Prayer for a Meeting

Opening Prayer for a Meeting: Every human gathering is an
opportunity to harness the different strengths of the individual
participants into a meaningful whole for better results. Even
God acknowledged the power of a united effort.

“And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have
all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing
will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do”
(Genesis 11:6).

What is a Meeting?: It is a gathering of people for a
business, social, or a religious purpose. Meetings play very
important part in our professional lives. Even God summons
meetings.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though
your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though
they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18).

Types of Meetings: There are several types, but the major
categories of meetings include:

1. Formal Meetings;
2. Annual General Meetings;
3. Statutory Meetings;
4. Board Meetings; and
5. Informal Meetings.

Each category of meetings has its rules and objectives. The
success of a meeting depends on how well these rules are
kept and how much of the objectives are met.

The Importance of Praying Before a Meeting: God would
not force His way into any affair that He is not invited into.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My
voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup
with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

The decision-making process of anything that could bring
progress is sensitive. Man can only reason from as much as
he knows, but none can know more than He who has been at
the Hem of affairs of the universe since eternity. He needs to
be involved in all our affairs.

“For the kingdom is the Lord's: and He is the Governor among
the nations” (Psalm 22:28).

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine
own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He
shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes…”
(Proverbs 3:5-7).

Opening Prayer for a Meeting

Thanksgiving: We thank You Father for the privilege to
approach You at any hour of need.
Requesting God's Presence: Father we pray, that You grace
our meeting with Your glorious presence in Jesus name. We
ask that You are part of this meeting like You were at the
Jerusalem Council meeting over the issue of the circumcision
of the gentile Christians in Jesus name.

Divine Wisdom: Lord, give us Your wisdom to guide every
thought and opinion in this meeting in Jesus name. Help us to
understand whatever problems there may be, and proffer the
best solutions in Jesus name.
Unity of Mind and Purpose: Father, grant us unity of mind
and purpose in all our discourses in this meeting in Jesus
name. Let us agree on the right things in Jesus name. Even
when the majority are sincerely wrong, help us to unanimously
reject the wrong ideas in Jesus name.
Rejecting Disagreements: With one accord, we reject and
cast out of this meeting every spirit of disagreements,
misunderstanding, and betrayal in Jesus name. None among
us will be a mouthpiece for the enemy of progress in Jesus
name.
Fruitful Yield: Father, let this meeting yield the best results
for us as individuals and together as a body in Jesus name.
Appreciation: Thank You for answered prayers. In Jesus
name we have prayed. Amen!
